Patient Care
The Division of Pediatric Nephrology provides outpatient and inpatient consultation for Children's Medical Center Dallas, with pediatric nephrologists always available to evaluate and treat patients with renal abnormalities.
Faculty provide renal replacement therapy in patients from birth through adolescence. A hemodialysis unit and a training program for home peritoneal dialysis (CAPD/CCPD) are staffed by nephrology nurses. Currently there are more than 60 children and adolescents on dialysis. Two additional nurses work full-time to coordinate transplant planning and follow-up activities. Our division has its own social worker, dietitian, and child life specialist.
