Surgical Pathology

Our one-year program offers a year of transition in which the fellow's surgical pathology skills and confidence can be improved prior to entering practice. Our fellows (assistant instructors) will be primarily responsible for daily sign out of surgical pathology cases with our residents at Parkland Health & Hospital System (28,000 surgicals).

Requirements

Applicants must have completed an approved straight anatomic or AP/CP residency program, and obtain a license to practice medicine in Texas.

Educational Goals

Improve the fellow's skills and confidence in the practice of general surgical pathology.

Rotations

General surgical pathology at Parkland Memorial Hospital. Subspecialty electives if time permits.

Conferences

Daily surgical pathology consultants’ conference. Various didactic, unknown slide and tumor board conferences occur throughout the year. The fellows present cases at the weekly, campus-wide, combined modality tumor board.

Stipends

Salary will be commensurate with the applicant's level of training. The program begins July 1 of each year.
