DALLAS - Feb. 14, 2012 - Neurology residents spent a Friday night in January at a resident retreat on North Campus. Residents gathered in a conference room in the T. Boone Pickens Biomedical Building (ND) on January 27 to learn about a variety of issues and provide feedback to faculty.

Dr. Steven Vernino, Director of the Adult Residency Program, and Dr. Shilpa Chitnis, Assistant Director of the Adult Residency Program, put together an agenda for the evening. They provided information to residents about issues such as work-hour restrictions and the different services that residents cover including Parkland Memorial Hopsital inpatient and consults, Zale Lipshy University Hospital service, and St. Paul University Hospital service. Residents also learned about the ACGME survey that they will be filling out and upcoming elections for chief residents.

Dr. Pravin Khemani addressed issues related to the Parkland resident clinic and ways to improve performance, while Dr. Srikanth Muppidi discussed the didactics program.

Faculty members also wanted feedback from residents. Dr. Shilpa Chitnis said a committee of residents may be formed to help give regular feedback regarding the quality of the didactic conferences.

The evening was also a great opportunity to take some group photos. Check out the photo gallery on Facebook.
