Didactic Lecture Series
The Neurology Residency didactic curriculum consists of 20 courses (four weeks each). Each course consists of 10–12 lectures. Lectures are delivered at noon on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays (and some Wednesdays and Fridays). Selected courses are delivered once every year (Introduction, EEG, EMG, Awareness, Statistics). All other courses are presented twice every three years. This schedule allows residents two opportunities to receive the material during their training. Residents are expected to receive credit for all 20 courses before graduation.
The course supervisor coordinates the course development: the lecturer assignments and scheduling, the syllabus compilation and distribution, and the final evaluation process. Residents will be granted credit at the end of each course by the supervisor based on lecture attendance and a final evaluation. This may be based on multiple choice test of lecture content, oral or written essay, or project.
