On Friday, the interview session begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes with a reception from 4 to 6 p.m. Your interviews will be scheduled for either the morning or afternoon. Your schedule will be provided upon your arrival.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How long does the interview day last?
A: Generally from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. The day ends with a cocktail reception.
Q: Does UT Southwestern pay for lodging/travel costs?
A: No, this is the applicant’s responsibility.
Q: Can I change my interview date once I have been scheduled?
A: You can make schedule changes up to 7 days prior to your interview date through the Interview Broker link you received when you originally signed up. For schedule changes requested less than 7 days prior to your interview date, you must email the Residency Program. A staff member will contact you.
Q: I have a flight departing in the early afternoon. Can I request to interview in the morning so I will be sure to make my flight?
A: We will always try to accommodate any scheduling requests that will make it easier for you; however, your request must be sent to the Resiency Program at least 2 weeks before your interview date.
Q: Is there a carpool to the pre-interview dinner?
A: Depending on where you choose to stay while in Dallas, the dinner will generally be at a venue that is within the standard 10-mile radius of most hotel shuttle services. Other arrangements can be made depending on the circumstances of the request. If your hotel does not offer transportation to the dinner location, email the Residency Program by Tuesday of your interview week and our staff will make arrangements for your transportation.
Q: I am driving my own car to the interview. Where do I park?
A: Please park in Visitor Lot 7 on the South Campus (as shown on the Campus Map); parking validations will be given to all interviewing candidates.
Q: Will the applicants get to observe hospital rounds during the interview day?
A: We have found that bringing large groups onto the patient floors is a disruption that interferes with patient care. While you will not tour the patient care areas on your interview day, you will be given a tour of the facility and can make arrangements to observe hospital rounds at another time if you so desire.
Q: How do I contact my interviewers/tour guides after the interview day if I’d like to follow up?
A: You should contact residency line at 214-648-2287 or email the Residency Program and we will be happy to put you in touch with anyone you would like to reconnect with after your interview.
Q: I want to interview with a specific faculty member. Am I able to request this?
A: Depending on the nature of the request, specific faculty members can indeed be requested. However, this will be at the Program Director's discretion and depend on the availability of the faculty member in question.
