Assistant Professor

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine, Touchstone Diabetes Center is seeking an Assistant Professor. The position requires an M.D./Ph.D. or Ph.D. in a basic science and two to six years of postdoctoral experience in Molecular Physiology. The position will develop independent and externally funded as well as collaborative research programs focused in the area of G protein-coupled receptors with emphasis on diabetes and diabetes complications. Preference will be given to applicants performing "cutting-edge" research on diabetes, obesity, and adipose tissue physiology. Additional duties will include the teaching and training of graduate students, house staff, and fellows.

Assistant Professor

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine, and Touchstone Diabetes Center is seeking an Assistant Professor. The position requires an M.D./Ph.D. or Ph.D. in a basic science and two to six years of postdoctoral experience in Molecular Physiology. The position will consist of establishing a research program in the area of adipose tissue cell biology and physiology, focusing on the effects of Xbp1s and the uridine biosynthetic pathway on the physiological adaptation to feeding and fasting in a number of critical tissues such as liver, adipose tissue, and the pancreatic beta cell. Other areas of interest involved studies on the physiological role of adipokines such as adiponectin. Preference will be given to applicants performing "cutting-edge" research on diabetes, obesity, and adipose tissue physiology. Additional duties will include the teaching and training of graduate students, house staff, and fellows.
