Chief, Division of Epidemiology
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an established cancer epidemiologist to develop and lead a new initiative in cancer epidemiology. The individual will serve as Division Chief in the Department of Clinical Sciences at the Associate Professor or Professor level and be expected to recruit and develop an outstanding group of investigators that will pursue innovating questions, with a particular focus on the role of genetics in cancer risk. The successful candidate for this tenure track/tenured position must have an MD, PhD or equivalent doctorate, with experience relevant to investigation of cancer in families and/or populations, ability to apply state-of-the-art statistical and epidemiologic methods, and demonstrated potential to develop a creative, independent program of cancer epidemiologic research.
The individual will play a major role in the Harold C. Simmons Cancer Center, which provides exceptional resources for investigators in cancer epidemiology, including multiple core facilities and large, multi-investigator grants funded by the NCI and the Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas. The individual will be joining a large energetic group of collaborative researchers who have been recruited over the past seven years.
UT Southwestern Medical Center is located in a 387-acre medical district just five minutes from downtown and is home to many nationally and internationally recognized physicians and scientists, including five Nobel Laureates, and 20 members of the National Academy of Sciences and Institute of Medicine, respectively. Its large catchment area includes a particularly diverse population in the surrounding urban and rural areas as well as patients seen at the University Hospitals and clinics, Dallas County’s Parkland Memorial Hospital and its Community-Oriented Outreach Clinics, and the Dallas Children’s Medical Center.

Faculty Positions in Biostatistics
Assistant or Associate Professor
The Department of Clinical Sciences and NCI-designated Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking candidates for a faculty biostatistician. The biostatistician will have the opportunity to collaborate with basic, translational, clinical and population-based cancer research, and health outcomes research. Successful candidates are expected to collaborate with Cancer Center investigators, as well as pursue independent research.
Applicants should have a doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics or a closely related field, excellent oral and written communication skills and commitment to high quality methodology and collaborative research. Candidates with expertise in statistical applications in basic, translational, clinical and population-based cancer research, clinical trial design or health outcomes research and working experiences in a collaborative biomedical research setting is preferred.
