Biomolecular NMR Facility

Built around six Varian NMR spectrometers (2x500, 3x600 and 800MHz), the Biomolecular NMR facility provides instrumentation and expertise for biomolecular solution NMR studies and structure determination. Facility includes robotics sample changers and laser illumination sources. 

Structural Biology/X-Ray Crystallography

The Structural Biology/X-Ray Crystallography facility makes macromolecular crystallography available as a general tool utilizing all stages of crystallographic projects from cloning, expression, and purification via crystallization and structure determination, to structure analysis, presentation, and publication. 

Rapid Biochemical Kinetics

The Rapid Biochemical Kinetics facility provides computer-controlled rapid mixing and optical spectroscopic instruments for quenched-flow and stopped-flow kinetic experiments. 

DNA Sequencing/McDermott Center

The DNA Sequencing Core provides genotyping, SNP detection assays, and DNA sequencing for UT Southwestern Medical Center investigators. Samples are amplified using Applied Biosystems Inc.(ABI) Big Dye Terminator 3.1 chemistry, and analyzed on ABI capillary instruments. 

Macromolecular Biophysics Resource

The Macromolecular Biophysics Resource (MBR)

The MBR provides access to a host of state-of-the-art biophysical instrumentation. MBR also provides training for the planning and performance of the experiments, including the analysis and presentation of the resulting data.

Molecular and Cellular Imaging

The centralized research and teaching Molecular and Cellular Imaging Core provides light- and electron-microscopy services in both life and physical sciences. Learn more.
