Master’s Degree and Certificate Program in Clinical Sciences
UT Southwestern has emerged as one of the leaders in the nationwide initiative to develop a true academic home for clinical and translational research and clinical investigators. As part of this initiative, the Clinical Sciences Graduate Program offers investigators a Graduate Certificate or Master’s Degree in Clinical Science.
The program is led by the Department of Clinical Sciences of UT Southwestern Medical School, a multidisciplinary department devoted to the growth and development of clinical research and clinical investigators.
Research-Focused Career Goals
Designed for postdoctoral fellows and junior faculty, this track is intended for individuals who are current postdoctoral fellows, faculty, or have been offered a fellowship or faculty position that will allow them the time and departmental support needed to pursue research-focused career goals. Graduates from this track will be equipped to apply for funding as independent investigators.
The Clinical Sciences Graduate Program provides rigorous training in the skills and competencies necessary to plan, conduct, and interpret superior clinical research. The comprehensive didactic curriculum is led by a multidisciplinary group of instructors that includes statisticians, epidemiologists, ethicists, experts in clinical research design and methodology, and other experienced clinical scientists.
Competitive Edge for Research Support
In addition to offering valuable knowledge and skills required to conduct clinical research, successful completion of this advanced-level training assists individuals in becoming more competitive in seeking independent research support for clinical studies.
