Preparing a Journal Report (DCS 5114)
This course covers: general writing skills and strategies; how to prepare an empirical article, including tips on writing the abstract, introduction, aims, methods, results, and discussion/conclusion sections of a peer reviewed journal article. Students will be required to submit a journal article and review others' articles. Course objectives are:

Prerequisites: None
Credit: 1 credit hour, elective
Grading Criteria: Pass/Fail; grade based on attendance (33%), written paper (33%), and review of paper (33%). Missing one class will result in 1/16 reduction in total of 33 points/class. If student fails to turn in paper, he/she will lose 33% of 100; failure to review paper results in failing the class; review grade (0-100) = % of 33 points acquired. Assignments, projects, and participation in the class discussions are important components of the course. In order to pass the course, you must complete all assignments and participate in the class discussions. Passing Grade = 66 (Pass/Fail)
