Clinical Research Protocol Development (DCS 5116)

This practical course is intended to teach the basic principles of designing and presenting an outstanding research protocol. Course objectives are:

  1. Translate a research question into a hypothesis
  2. Identify and describe hypothesis-appropriate study subjects and study measurements
  3. Select specific study design appropriate to the research and resources available
  4. Synthesize elements into a study plan
  5. Develop a statistical section and analytical plan

Prerequisites: DCS 5301: Clinical Research Design & Analysis is helpful, but not required

Credit: 1 hour

Grading Criteria: Pass/Fail; students will turn in Research Rationale assignments and will present the research protocol developed in class
