Departments and Centers of the O’Donnell Brain Institute

The Peter O’Donnell Jr. Brain Institute is uniquely focused on advancing world-class scientific discoveries to build the understanding and treatment of neurological disorders. As a fully integrated Center, scientists and clinicians interact across Departments, Centers, and disciplines through multidisciplinary teams focused on accelerating progression in injury prevention, novel brain preservation strategies, and restoration of brain function lost by disease and injury.

Departments

Along with the Departments, the O’Donnell Brain Institute is connected with the following UT Southwestern Centers:

Most of the inpatient care provided through the O’Donnell Brain Institute is at Zale Lipshy University Hospital, one of the world’s premier neurological diagnostic and treatment Centers, which has been certified as an Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center by The Joint Commission. With 148 beds, it serves as a referral hospital for North Texas and the entire southwestern U.S., offering leading-edge care to patients and families, administered by highly trained physicians utilizing state-of-the-art technology.

Because of the expanse of our clinical Programs, several UT Southwestern facilities provide seamless clinical care for brain, spine, nerve, and muscle disorders. These facilities include William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital and ambulatory clinics at our main UT Southwestern campus as well as our Richardson/Plano location.
