About the Chief

Thomas E. Bickers, Jr.

Thomas E. Bickers, Jr., serves as Chief of Police for UT Southwestern Medical Center. Supervising a 150-person police department, Chief Bickers develops and implements safety and law enforcement solutions for both the hospital campus and the academic community. He also serves as an advisor to the University regarding security and VIP programs, bomb threat action plans, and law enforcement staffing. Prior to becoming Chief of Police in 2005, Chief Bickers served as Assistant Chief of Police at UT Southwestern and Rice University and also with the Bexar County Hospital District and as Chief of Police for Southwestern University in Georgetown.
