About the Office

The Office of Business Continuity and Emergency Management is responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of emergency planning, training, response, and recovery procedures for UT Southwestern Medical Center.

UT Southwestern addresses both Business Continuity and Emergency Management by partnering with departments on campus that focus on safety to facilitate responses to emergency situations.

UTSW-Alert Mass Notification System

UT Southwestern’s alert system enables emergency response team members to communicate with students, staff, and faculty in minutes by sending a message via a number of contact methods including email, text messaging, and cell phones. UTSW–ALERT is used only during emergencies and for system testing. This is a free service to members of the UTSW community.
